Construction Project Coordinator

We are a dynamic modular construction company located in British Columbia, specializing in state-of-the-art steel and wood-frame modular, high-density housing. This is an opportunity to provide leadership and support to all our projects, including planning, delivery, and evaluation of initiatives spanning North America and Europe.
As the Construction Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing portfolios across multiple projects with responsibilities ranging from conceptualization through to delivery and support. This position is fully accountable for the coordination of project schedules, development of the constructability plans and execution strategies of actively assigned projects. The position works closely with vendors and suppliers and is required to have foundational working knowledge of construction standards and practices in BC.

Primary Responsibilities:
Project Management
-
Assists in securing new work by participating in estimates, working with subcontractors and participating in proposals and presentation.

Assists in overall construction coordination and planning and develops and monitors overall project schedule.

Maintains and performs project document control and procedures (administering RFIs, shop drawing and submittal process, maintaining as-built drawings, etc.).

Assists in managing and reporting overall project performance for HSE, cost management, schedule, and quality.

Provides administrative support to install crew

Identifies and assists in resolving field technical issues.

Provides proactive leadership for safety and quality programs.
-
Administers project close-out and warranty period.
Budgets and Contract Management
-
Assists with contract maintenance with suppliers and trades and is responsible for subcontract administration, including defining work scope, answering inquiries, and monitoring progress.

Effective cost management of projects including preparation and tracking of progress claims and estimates.

Inventory and tracking of materials and equipment to ensure timely material orders.

Assists with change management and change order process, including pricing, processing, and assessing cost and schedule impact.
Constructability Review and Input

Assists designers/engineers when reviewing drawings and suggests value-added or alternative construction methods or materials.

Develops and maintains strong stakeholder relationships.

Coordinates BC structural engineering reviews.

Reviews and coordinates manufacturers drawings.

Preparation of all on-site requirements – permits, paperwork etc
Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Post-secondary completion or Red Seal Certification in project management, construction management, engineering, architecture, carpentry, engineering technology or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
A minimum of 2 years experience in modular construction, general contracting and/or installations on multi-family residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
Experience managing, estimating, and forecasting construction project budgets.
Computer proficiency: Microsoft Office 365, cloud-based collaboration experience and internal operational systems with a strong aptitude to adopt new technology.
Experience with Monday.com or other project management software is considered an asset.
Prior experience with panelized or modular construction is considered an asset
Working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications, project health, safety and environment (HSE), quality, building materials, and Canadian standards/codes.
Knowledge of means and methods and construction sequences.
Ability to create schedules using the Critical Path Method.
Ability to administer subcontracts and contract documents.
Ability to understand and employ engineering/construction plans/specifications, methods, and procedures
Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize own work, and delegate simple tasks.
Able/willing to travel
